Hi, I am Jenn Mercille.

I am a childhood photographer in Tacoma, Wa. with Texas roots. I am Mom to three spirited kiddos & wife to a VERY patient husband. My first camera was a pink Flash 110 my Mom gave me when I was 9-years-old. From that first roll of film, I was hooked. I have been chasing "the shot" ever since.

I studied a little film and digital photography as a journalism student in college, but I am mostly self-taught by hundreds of books and thousands of hours of trial and error. In the 20 years that I've been seriously practicing my craft, I have shot just about everything from photojournalism to studio, fine art, landscape, pets, newborns, weddings, food, events, boudoir, real estate.. you name it. I love to learn and try new things, and especially love clients who challenge me to push my limits to new heights of creativity and skill. I've been good at some of it, great at some of it, and okay at a bit too. With everything I've done, I keep finding myself drawn back to portraiture, specifically childhood.

There's just something mesmerizing about watching the world through curious and imaginative eyes. I am inspired every day by my children, my nieces & nephews, and the many friends that come with them to play in my backyard. I have had the honor of photographing a few of them from newborns to seniors, and watching them grow up in front of my lens has been really magical.

When I'm not behind my lens, I am spending time with friends & family, ferrying my kiddos around to their various activities and birthday parties, creating in the kitchen, playing board games, or camping around the PNW.
